Q: How old do I need to be to get a piercing?
You must be 18+ with valid government-issued ID to receive a piercing. Clients under 18 require parental consent, and both you and your parent will need to provide ID.

Q: What ID do I need to bring?
We require government-issued photo ID for every client (examples: driver’s license, health card, passport or Ontario photo ID).

Photos of ID will not be accepted.

Q: Can a parent or guardian sign consent on my behalf?
Consent must come from a legal parent or guardian.

Q: Can I bring my own jewelry?
For health and safety reasons, we can only pierce with new, unworn jewelry that meets industry standards. Because of this, we pierce exclusively with jewelry purchased through our studio.

Q: I have sensitive skin—what jewelry options do you carry?
We proudly offer only the highest quality jewelry: ASTM-F136 implant-grade titanium, as well as solid 14k and 18k gold. These materials are extremely biocompatible and designed to support proper healing.

Q: How much does your jewelry cost?
Our jewelry collection includes a wide variety of titanium and gold styles at different price points. We regularly update our selection, so you’ll always find options that suit your personal style and budget.

Q: Can I go swimming with a new piercing?
We recommend avoiding submerging a new piercing for at least the first three months. This includes baths, pools, hot tubs, and natural bodies of water. Your piercing is essentially an open wound during healing, and avoiding water helps minimize the risk of infection.

Q: Should I twist or move the jewelry in my new piercing?
No. Twisting or moving jewelry disrupts the healing process. Your piercer will select the appropriate jewelry size to allow room for swelling. In many cases, we’ll recommend a follow-up checkup and downsizing your jewelry once healing is underway.

At Sage + Pine, children under 12 may be pierced only if they can clearly advocate for themselves and demonstrate understanding of the process. A parent or legal guardian must be present with valid ID (health cards accepted).

To make the experience as quick and comfortable as possible, two piercers will work together during the procedure.

We reserve the right to decline service if the child is unwilling or unable to consent, and both the child and parent/guardian must understand and follow proper aftercare instructions.
